A 17-year-old girl has been stabbed to death at a park in east London.
Police were called to St Neots Road, Harold Hill, Romford, at about 21:30 GMT on Friday.
The girl was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Metropolitan Police has begun a murder investigation, although no arrests have been made. The girl's next-of-kin have been informed, and a post-mortem examination is due to be held.
She is the first teenage girl to die in the capital this year.
She became the 18th person to be killed in London this year, and the fifth teenager to die.
Last year, two 17-year-old girls and one 18-year-old woman were murdered in London.

Sorry to disappointed but days of prisoners getting beaten up by guards or guards turning a blind eye to things are long long gone. Both will have mates in all ready and they won't miss the world as people think they and will adap well.

The two "not guilty" didn't enter the park - they travelled to the park together with the two perpetrators I think but didn't enter?
Presumably they argued they had no expectation that the perpetrators would commit murder or GBH. That "mens rea" (state of mind of the accused) is difficult to prove of people who might travel from A to B with a murderer but who don't then enter location B themselves.

There is a lot of circumstantial evidence. There is just no smoking gun, yet.
Sometimes people just get hyped up to kill someone and if they don't find someone they want they attack someone else they recognise.
The summer after I left school a group of kids from my class (16 year olds) who were involved in drugs went looking for someone who'd ripped them off. They couldn't find them and bumped into two other random kids who went to the same school but were not involved in anything dodgy at all. One ran away, the other didn't and was stabbed to death. The kid who died was the nicest, most gentle kid you'd ever meet. Absolute tragedy.
